Plastic Nylon Wall Plugs – Italian Manufacturing, Direct B2B Supply

Plastic wall plugs are among the most widely used fastening elements in Italian residential and industrial construction: every electrical system, every HVAC duct, every fixed cable conduit on walls requires large quantities of plugs. Choosing the correct type, the right diameter and length according to the substrate thickness, the version with or without collar, and the compatible screw makes the difference between a reliable 20-year anchoring and a fixing point that fails at the first vertical load.

Cieffeplast produces nylon PA66 wall plugs at its facility in Maserà di Padova, in North-East Italy. We supply directly to construction wholesalers, electrical material distributors, panel builders, civil and industrial installers across Italy and internationally.

What an Expansion Plug Is and How It Works

An expansion plug is a plastic (or metal, in structural applications) fastening element inserted into a pre-drilled hole in a wall. The plug body is longitudinally slotted so that, when the screw is driven inside, it expands radially and presses against the hole walls, generating the friction force that provides pull-out resistance.

The quality of the anchoring depends on three factors: the drill diameter (must match the nominal plug diameter), the drilling depth (must be at least equal to the plug length), and the quality of the substrate (solid concrete, solid brick, and natural stone allow much stronger anchoring than hollow brick, drywall, or lightweight materials, which require specific plugs).

Cieffeplast expansion plugs are designed for universal fixing on solid substrates: reinforced concrete, solid brick, and natural stone.

TX Plugs – Expansion Type, With and Without Collar

TX plugs are the main expansion plug family by Cieffeplast. The TX body profile, characterized by helical grooves that increase the contact surface with the hole wall, ensures uniform distribution of expansion force, providing stable anchoring and resistance to rotation during screw tightening. Rotation of the plug during installation is one of the most common issues in low-quality plugs: the TX profile eliminates it.

TX plugs are available in two versions and different sizes to adapt to installation conditions:

TX Plugs Without Collar

The plug is fully inserted into the hole: the head is flush with the wall surface. This is the correct choice when the plug head must be hidden under a coating, tile, panel, or any material covering the original surface. The screw thread occupies the full plug length. Available with or without screw.

The white zinc-plated screw must match the plug size. It is a ready-to-install solution for construction sites where reducing the number of separate components is important.

TX Plugs With Collar

The collar is a circular disc at the top of the plug that prevents it from sinking beyond the surface during insertion. It is the correct plug for layered materials such as plaster on brick or cladding on masonry. The collar rests on the outer surface and ensures correct anchoring depth regardless of coating thickness. Available with or without screw.

The white zinc-plated screw must match the plug size. It is a ready-to-install solution widely used in construction sites where component simplification is needed. This is the most common configuration for general installations on plaster and brick where a permanent, clean fixing is required, with guaranteed correct depth thanks to the collar. The most common solution for civil electrical systems, cable trunking, conduits, and wall cable ties.

TX Availability: Sizes and Colors

All TX plugs are made of PA6 nylon, available in grey. Available diameters range from 5 mm to 10 mm; contact the sales team for the full size chart.

Hammer-Driven Plugs — Quick Percussion Fixing

Hammer-driven plugs (also called percussion plugs or nail plugs) are one-piece fasteners combining the expansion body and screw into a pre-assembled component. They are inserted into the drilled hole by hammering the screw head: the plug head rests on the surface while the body expands during impact. A final tightening with a screwdriver completes the expansion.

Cieffeplast supplies five variants of hammer plugs, differentiated by head shape and screw type. The choice depends on aesthetic requirements and installation conditions:

Flat Head, Natural Nylon, Zinc-Plated Screw

Flat head profile flush with the surface. Clean aesthetic for visible installations on light surfaces such as white plaster and finished panels.

Round Head, Natural Nylon, Zinc-Plated Screw

Hemisphere-shaped nylon head with zinc-plated screw.

Brown Round Head, Copper Screw

Color-matched version for wood, exposed brick, terracotta, or earth-toned surfaces.

Brown Round Head, Black Screw

For darker surfaces where reduced visual impact is required.

Black Round Head, Black Screw

Maximum visual camouflage for outdoor installations or dark substrates. Suitable for photovoltaic mounting systems, black anodized aluminum profiles, EPDM or bituminous roofing. This is the standard specification for solar installations where roof aesthetics are required.

Applications – Where Cieffeplast Plugs Are Used

Civil and Industrial Electrical Systems

Fixing cable trays, conduits, corrugated pipes, and wall cable supports on concrete and brick.

Residential and Commercial Construction

Hammer plugs in aesthetic color combinations are used in residential projects where appearance matters: trims, curtain rails, decorative panels, wooden battens, gutters, and general sheet metal work.

Photovoltaic Systems and Outdoor Infrastructure

Black plugs are used for PV mounting structures on bituminous or EPDM roofs, ensuring visual continuity with panels and mounting systems.

For cable fastening on concrete walls in PV systems, the correct system is the Tenax plug combined with the Cobra® cable tie plug (Accessories category) – a single anchoring solution for both tie and DC cable bundle.

Outdoor Infrastructure and Light Industry

Used for guides, brackets, shelves, and components in production environments. Availability with pre-inserted screw reduces assembly complexity in series production.

FAQ – Nylon Wall Plugs

What is the difference between collar and no-collar plugs?

The collar is a disc that sits on the surface and prevents over-insertion in layered materials. Without collar, the plug goes fully into the hole and sits flush, ideal when it must be hidden under a covering.

Can TX plugs be removed after installation?

The plug body remains in the hole even after removing the screw and can be extracted with pliers. The screw can be reused.

What is the correct drilling diameter?

The drilling diameter must match the technical specifications provided. Always use suitable drill bits in good condition.

Are Cieffeplast plugs compatible with Cobra® cable ties?

Yes. The Cobra® cable tie plug (Accessories, code 9771) is designed specifically for wall fixing of PA66 and PA12 cable ties.
