PA6.6 (Polyamide 6.6) Cobra cable ties are made only with first quality PA6.6. Tensile strength, rigidity, and heat resistance superior to PA6 and generic nylon alternatives. Operating temperature −40°C to +85°C continuous. Moisture absorption 2.7% at 50% RH. Resists mineral oils, greases, bases, chlorinated solvents, alcohols. The one selected to produce Cobra cable ties is in accordance to UL94V2 class of flammability.
PA6.6 heat-stabilised The selection of a specific formulation improves thermal stability. Continuous operating temperature extended to +125°C, short-term peak +150°C. Required where sustained ambient temperatures exceed standard PA6.6 rating.
PA6.6 UV-stabilised The selection of a specific formulation improves the light stability by reducing degradation mechanisms associated with chromophore activity. For installations requiring multi-year outdoor life.
PA12 (Polyamide 12) moisture absorption ~1.5% versus 2.7% for PA6.6. This cable tie can only be installed using the appropriate tool. Dimensional stability and enhanced hydrolysis resistance in sustained wet or humid conditions. Specified for marine, outdoor enclosures, and chemical process environments.
Polypropylene (PP) excellent chemical resistance and good flexibility but limited heat resistance and lower mechanical strength.
